"I don't sing because I'm happy, I'm happy because I sing." William James.

RESEARCH:

Don Campbell, author of 'The Mozart Effect' found that early learning occurs primarily through MOVEMENT.

The 'No Child Left Behind' Act of 2002 states that 'Studying Music encourages self- discipline and diligence traits that carry over into mathematics, science, foreign languages, civics and government, economics, arts, history and geography'.

According to a 1997 article in Neurological Research, Music helps prepare the mind for specific disciplines of learning; skills leaned through music carry over into study skills, communications skills, cognitive skills and abstract reasoning skills USEFUL TO ALL PARTS OF LIFE.

Findings from a study conducted by three researchers at Sam Houston State University show that parental time spent with children is a significant factor in the development of intelligence.

Now in the UK the government are back on board with providing funding and opportunities for Early Years Music and encouraging making music as a famiLy in the home. As a Kindermusik Educator I am convinced that regular MUSIC MAKING IN THE HOME creates better lives for all involved.

Hope we get to make music with you :)

Music soothes, stimulates, conveys mood, communicates ideas and feelings and brings about smiles and laughter.

Music, when delivered with expert knowledge and skill, has been scientifcally proven to be a 'tool for learning'. People who have been exposed to music training from an early age are more likely to get more out of life and succeed in the ways they want to.

ABC: Music and Me - Specific Information for the AUTUMN TERM 2011 :

The ABC: Music and Me's course for the autumn is titled ‘Down On The Ground’.

Children love to explore what’s down on the ground especially if it moves! They will be presented with plenty of opportunity to explore, move, express, interact, grow & learn whilst singing, crawling, flying, leaping and bounding…in fact ABC: Music and Me includes all the types of activities which help your child learn and grow. It’s a fun way of learning!

AND OUR BEST FEATURE: Take the class home with you to continue the fun with our inclusive ABC: Home Pack containing 1) CD of all the class musical activities & 2) magazine style family activity & story booklet. All included in the class fee.

What a Parent and Child Will Experience in Class:

For babies, toddlers and preschoolers with their parents or caregivers; this class provides a delightful environment unlike any other. Through a unique blend of multi-age activities that include creative movement, vocal play, object and instrument exploration, and a colourful literature component, all families will enjoy these activities!
Variety of Music:
Musical diversity builds strong neural networks in the brains of all children, which is why each ABC: Music and Me course will contain an array of styles, sounds, and genres.
Instrument Play:
Age-appropriate experiences with child-safe instruments enhance a sense of rhythm and steady beat, develop a keen awareness of the distinguishing qualities of sound, and encourage spontaneity and creativity.
Dance:
A classroom full of children and their adults dancing together helps a little body develop the muscle strength needed to crawl and walk, introduces social skills in a fun way for toddlers, and challenges preschoolers to remember steps in sequencing. It is great for all of us as it helps us all to fall in love with the simple joy of responding to music.
Together Time:
An ABC: Music and Me created by Kindermusik International class is truly the essence of “quality time,” offering parents and caregivers a place to create special memories with their child/ren, gain new insights into development, and nurture a natural love of music in their family.
Expert Advice:
As an Kindermusik Educator I am able to explain “what to watch for” every step of the way and let you know how each activity enhances a child’s complete development. This information is often provided in the form of an email so that the class time is not taken up with talking.
Learning Continues at Home:
With the Home Materials, the learning continues at home with the child’s best teacher—the parent and/or the caregiver.

Don't forget Free trial class available and special promotions on www.kindermusik.com using EZ enrol.

A personal message from Ali Lunn:

'We all had such a wonderful time together last year. We think the children grew by meeting and being with us and we, the staff, certainly learnt lots from the children and were blessed by their personalities and the friendships they offered us. This year's venue allows for us to provide an even looser strucutre than before and we look forward to joining in with our enrolled children's creativity and playful minds. xAli Lunn
