"I don't sing because I'm happy, I'm happy because I sing." William James.

RESEARCH:

Don Campbell, author of 'The Mozart Effect' found that early learning occurs primarily through MOVEMENT.

The 'No Child Left Behind' Act of 2002 states that 'Studying Music encourages self- discipline and diligence traits that carry over into mathematics, science, foreign languages, civics and government, economics, arts, history and geography'.

According to a 1997 article in Neurological Research, Music helps prepare the mind for specific disciplines of learning; skills leaned through music carry over into study skills, communications skills, cognitive skills and abstract reasoning skills USEFUL TO ALL PARTS OF LIFE.

Findings from a study conducted by three researchers at Sam Houston State University show that parental time spent with children is a significant factor in the development of intelligence.

Now in the UK the government are back on board with providing funding and opportunities for Early Years Music and encouraging making music as a famiLy in the home. As a Kindermusik Educator I am convinced that regular MUSIC MAKING IN THE HOME creates better lives for all involved.

Hope we get to make music with you :)

*NEW FOR 2010!

Ali Lunn's 'Music D.I.Y' Project:

Using the ABC: Music and Me - 'Laugh and Learn' for Pre-School children and ABC: Music and Me - 'Move and Groove' for Reception and Years 1 Programme created by Kindermusik International Ali Lunn is now training and empowering staff and adults who work and care for children up to the age of 6 to make music without the need of a music specialist.

'The beauty of the ABC pogramme', says Ali Lunn 'is that it makes music making a much more spontaneous and natural part of a very young child's life. With the teachers' kits enabling the staff to deliver the programme and the home packs providing the class to continue with the child's family, the children can make music with those who know and love them best.'

contact her today and arrange your FREE ABC: Music and Me Class today and to find out why it's probably the best choice for your children.

New for Children's Parties:

Ali has introduced Musical Story Parties for children aged 3 to 7 yrs. You choose the theme - we write the story and weave our Creative Musical Activities in and out of it - MAGICAL!

Here's what one mum had to say about our Princess themed story party:

Carol says: I would definately recommend Ally Pally. she did a princess party for my daughters 7th in March at a reduced rate too as it was her first princess party. She kept all 10 children enthralled for the whole hour, gave some lovely certificates and they were all talking about it for days afterwards. Very good with the children and fantastic value, highly recommend her!

'ABC: Music and Me' on Mondays in Poole Town for parents/carers and their precious ones:

This summer 12 adults, (a mixture of parents and childminders) and their little ones (aged between 8 months and 41/2 yrs) have been enjoying an ABC: Music and Me course from the programme ABC: Music and Me - Laugh and Learn created by Kindermusik International. 'On The Go' is a transport and travelling course. Here is what one of the adults thought about it:

Dear Ali

Thank you so much for a fantastic music class. My mindee boy's 18mths and 1yr love the Ally Pally class. The 'lets put on our listening ears' and 'My turn, your turn' are great for encouraging early language skills.

My 18mth old has suddenly become confident with copying the actions to the songs and often tries to sing and do the actions all by himself at home. He loves the transport theme and pretends to drive a car. His language is now coming on in leaps and bounds.

Ali you have given me so many new ideas to help all the children in my care. We love the 'lost them, found them' games. The Cd's are so catchy  I find myself singing away to them. The children respond to them everytime they are played.

I sense your thrill when you see all the children listening and waiting on cue and then shaking their instruments with excitement. It's amazing how children so very young respond to the cues, but then you do have a very tuneful voice.

Thanks again Ali, We look forward to our next session.
