TO THE ALLY PALLY SCHOOL OF MUSIC; WHICH IS DEDICATED TO NURTURING CHILDREN THROUGH MUSIC.

The Ally Pally School of Music is owned and run by Ali Lunn and provides a range of musical tuition options for all ages and irrespective of ability. This includes pre-school music & movement for 0 to 7 yrs, pre-instrumental musicianship for children between 4 and 7 years old and instrumental tuition for 5yrs+ either group or individual. Ali herself specialises in early years' music and beginners' instrumental tuition in the Ocarina, Recorder Family, Keyboard, Piano, 'Cello & Ukulele but is keen to accommodate other musical teaching requests. Mission Statement:

The Ally Pally School of Music is dedicated to providing musicianship classes and instrumental tuition of the highest standard for any interested parent, child, adult or organsiation. Rather than searching for the next Mozart, the school is more interested in bringing the joy and freedom of music into people's lives. This can start right from the beginning of life; thereby helping a person to realise their fullest potential.

How Is This Achieved?

With its unique blend of activities, music and at home materials, the Kindermusik programme makes a significant contribution to a child's total development assisting them in life; before and through school age and on into adulthood. Research over the last 25 years shows that music can aid development in all areas: emotional, physical, cognitive, language and social. Each activity within the Kindermusik programme is carefully designed with this research in mind. See site news for summer / courses and plans for the next Academic year.

The Ally Pally 1/2 Hours provide your young one with the experience of live music playing and proven methods of introducing them to singing and pitch training, instrumental playing, expressive movement and dance, active listening and being quiet. Instrumental tuition is available from the age of 5. All pupils will be taught a combination of playing techniques, repertoire and general musicianship to develop their understanding and enjoyment of music. The Ally Pally School of Music believes the scientific research which states that if a child has been exposed to carefully thought out and well structured musical activity before they try to master an instrument, then they will be far more likely to succeed. Therefore the school advises that you enrol your child into an early years course and not wait until they are of instrumental learning age.

Current research advocates music from inside the womb so The Ally Pally School of Music provides pregnant women with musical ideas to carry out with their unborn child and teaches courses that start from birth.
